Feedback:   I loved every minute of the workshop on the Isle of Skye! We visited some stunning places and Dimitri had clearly carefully planned every location to ensure we were there at the right time of day to get the best possible light for our shots.
Through Dimitri’s tuition I had the opportunity to try out new photographic techniques for me, such as long exposures and panoramic images.
In the evenings we spent time critiquing our images from the day and learning new processing methods. The tuition was excellent and I was so pleased with the results I achieved with my photographs using the techniques I learned. I have come home with a set of images I am really delighted with - in fact I can’t believe I actually took some of them!
Many thanks Dimitri for an excellent workshop, I would definitely like to join another one in the not too distant future!

....Oh yes and for the record, I do mean every word of it.

Feedback:  I found Dimitri to be very witty, considerate and courteous. He has great knowledge of photography technique as well as location suitability, always checking weather conditions and sunrise/sunset times. I'd go so far as to say that Dimitri is simply a photography guru and what he doesnt know isn`t worth knowing. I've already signed up for another workshop and can't wait as I had so much fun and learned loads along the way.

Feedback:  I found my early rise (1:30am!) and 2 hour journey to Northumberland for a session with Dimitri to be well worth the time and effort. His style is one of suggestion and 'gentle persuasion' rather than a 'my way is the only way' approach. If what he suggests doesn't work for you then he will accept that and move on. However, I have to say that this does not happen very often at all, and generally his approach to the taking of a photograph will lead to skill enhancement all round.
He is not in any way an 'equipment snob' and will help you to get the best from whatever equipment you turn up with. He will, however, always advocate the use of a tripod and either a 'cable release' or use of the self-timer and filters.
In summary, time spent on one of these courses will almost invariably lead to improvements in all aspects of image capture, such as exposure, composition, post-processing, etc. or, at the very least, improvements in the thought processes that lead to the final photograph.

Feedback:  Being fairly new to the hobby I looked into getting some help and advice on improving my shots as a landscape photographer. When I read about the Earth's Beauty workshops I booked up for the Skye trip straight away and was not disappointed. This course seemed to have all the bases covered in terms of help and advice on digital photography.
Not only were we taken to great locations, we were given very helpfull advice on compositions and how to get the best out of our equipment. Another bonus for me was the tutors excellent help and advice on post-processing which he seems to be very experienced at.
I will definately be attending more of these workshops in the future and recommend them highly.

Feedback:  It is 6.40am in October and we're sitting in Dimitri's 4x4 parked in a tiny patch of rough land by a single track road on the Isle of Skye. It's dark and it's raining. "What does he think he is doing?" we all think, but it would be churlish to say anything as he is cheerful as always. We chat about cameras and joke about his new big lens. Then the rain stops and I take a walk to look over to the lighthouse and the mainland. The light is flat and uninspiring. The others join me one by one. A few tripods go up. Suddenly Dimitri is there. "Look behind you! See that clear patch in the sky? Get ready!" His enthusiasm is infectious and the mood changes. The sky lightens and develops shapes and patterns, subtle muted colours appear in the landscape below. Quietly Dimitri makes sure everyone has thought about their framing and checked their exposure. Just 10 minutes later, and as quickly as it arrived the light has gone. It starts to rain again, but we don't care. It's only 7.20am and we all have something in the bag already. Day one of the Earth's Beauty Tour to Skye 2008 has begun. A day of great locations, hands on advice served with unfailing good humour, plenty of anecdotes and all finished off with a Photoshop lesson over a glass of wine. Great stuff!  Mike Bell

Feedback:  The "Glencoe" workshop covers a fantastic itinerary of photogenic locations and hidden treasures. The tranquility of Lochan na h-Achlaise on a still morning is something that I shall remember and cherish for the rest of my life. The journey from Rannoch Moor down Glen Etive is absolutely spectacular and there are so many opportunities on this route to capture a diverse range of stunning Scottish scenery and its unique atmosphere.
Dimitri is an excellent leader, his course is very well organised and he was always willing to share advice and offer constructive criticism. I've picked up some great tips regarding technique and composition, along with some good advice on the use of filters to bring out the best of the landscape and sky. Some great banter along the way as well, I would recommend attending one of his workshops to anyone, regardless of experience.

Explaining a few things. Lake District area.
Hands on....one to one help on image processing.
Despite cold weather and big waves, dedication above all.  Some call it obsession, Dimitri calls it passion.
